Exterior View of New Planned Building from Division Street
The Board of Directors of Arlington Life Shelter has approved a $5.2 million Capital Campaign. Funds raised will provide the Shelter with the means to:
- Tear down the building on the newly acquired property adjacent to the Shelter, and construct a new two-story, 12, 642 sq. ft. building and connect it to the existing shelter.
- Renovate/Repurpose the current facility, including dorm rooms, adult lounges and administrative spaces.
- Add $400,000 to its operating reserve, in support of the expanded facilities.
Plans are to begin construction when approximately 85% of campaign funds have been received. The goal is to raise these funds as quickly as possible as the growing need is there every day. Ideally, we would like to have the building ready for occupancy by end of 2019.
